Colorful rites to ring in UAAP Season 76
August 18, 2013Host Adamson University has prepared a colorful presentation for the unfolding of the 76th season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Performers from Adamson and other participating schools joined forces to put up an elaborate Hunger Games-style production number depicting this year’s theme “Greatness Never Ends.”
“Videos and the participation of UAAP legends such as Hector Calma and Kenneth Duremdes will enhance the meaning and message of the season’s theme, Greatness Never Ends, a tribute, in a way, to athletes and individuals who have contri-buted to the UAAP’s success and stability” Adamson an-nounced in a statement.
The opening ceremonies will start at 12:30 noon.
The men’s basketball tilt will commence right after the prog-ram with Far Eastern University tackling early favorite University of the East followed by the tussle between De La Salle University and last year’s runner-up Uni-versity of Santo Tomas.
On Sunday, Adamson will start its campaign against University of the Philippines at 2 p.m. while defending champion Ateneo de Manila University battles title contender National University at 4 p.m.
